Ref Clips turns your game film into structured, teachable plays — every clip tagged by play type, call grade and mechanics, with notes you can send straight to your officials.
A working review tool for officials, not a highlight reel. Built to replace the weekly clip emails with something searchable, consistent and reusable — for football, basketball and every other sport you work.
Every clip carries the play type, the situation, and the notes that explain what happened and why.
Grade each decision — correct call, incorrect call, correct or incorrect no-call — so patterns show up over a season.
Assess positioning, angles, signals and coverage on the same clip the call is being graded on.
Import game film, cut the plays that matter, and keep every clip organised by game, team and play type.
Record the ruling on each play — the call, the no-call, and whether the crew got it right — with the reasoning attached.
Grade positioning, angles and signals on the same play, so technique gets reviewed alongside the decision.
Filter your library by play type, grade or official and see what keeps repeating across the season.
Share a game or a filtered set as a link, and let officials comment on individual plays.
Review on the laptop after the game, or on the phone from the car park — the library is the same everywhere.
Bring in clips from a web link or upload your own video — YouTube, Hudl and direct uploads all work.
Tag plays by type, team, game and custom labels, then re-use those tags as filters.
Pull up every holding call, every incorrect no-call, or every play from one official in a few clicks.
Write the coaching point on the play, and let the crew respond in the comment thread.
The same structure works for every sport you work — play type, call result, mechanics grade and your notes, attached to the play. Hover or tap any card to see the clip; the play types shown are the ones loaded in Ref Clips for that sport.

The founder of Ref Clips is a current Division 1 women's basketball official who also runs the new-official football training programme for high school football in his state.
He built the platform to replace the weekly clip emails he was sending the officials in his training programme — it grew from a way to share a few plays into a full review system now used across multiple sports.
